1256 - Principal Project Engineer

Provide technical leadership of and direct participation in projects involving the design of imbedded digital motion control and motor drive systems and the associated software and electronics. The systems include micro-controllers, DSPs, analog circuitry and switching power electronics. Applications are military weapon and turret control systems. Integration and testing of motion control systems. Will directly participate in design, documentation, integration and problem solving and Technical writing including, proposals, plans, reports, specifications and promotional material. Demonstrated capability with analog and digital control, switching power electronics and the associated electronics and software. Requires BS Degree with 8+ years relevant experience. Should havedemonstrated organizational and planning capabilities. Experience and capability with design and optimization of feedback control systems. Desired experience includes: circuit design and prototyping, microprocessor circuitry, power electronics, algorithms for brushless motor control, real-time processing, serial digital interfaces, resolver interfaces, Built In Test (BIT), embedded system integration and debugging. Relevant microprocessor experience is TIs DSP, Freescales (Formally Motorola) HC12 family and Motorola 56002 series.
