3576 - Test Engineer Sr.

An individual capable of working with minimal supervision.  The desire and motivation to accept the challenge to continually learn new skills and improve old ones.  This individual should have capabilities in the following areas:

 
BS in Engineering or related field required.  Equivalent military training or hydraulic test experience beneficial.
Ability to work on multiple tasks in parallel with high customer visibility.
Very high degree of organizational skills and the ability to move from task to task with minimal interruption to work progress.
Ability to read and work from Test Procedures, Hydraulic Schematics, and engineering drawings.
Ability to work from customer specifications and industry standards to create Test Plans, Procedures, and Reports.
Determines basic test objectives and standards by studying product characteristics, customer requirements, government regulations, and conferring with project engineers.
Investigates test validation problems related to equipment and/or processes.  May resolve testing problems by recommending modifications to procedure; confers with project engineers on revisions to test objectives, methods, and standards.
Plans, coordinates, and facilitates tests by training and directing technicians.  Provides parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed.
Documents test results using appropriate observation and recording devices.  Creates a test data history for each product function.
Maintains and administers a test information database to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of relevant data.  May develop information requirements: may assist in the design of information systems.
Reports test outcomes by collecting, analyzing, interpreting, summarizing, and displaying data: recommending product design changes.  Presents electronic data in usable engineering format.
Ability to maintain the integrity of the data collected and testing performed by ensuring that tests are performed per all industry standards and customer requirements while maintaining the test schedule.
Assists in identifying product design changes during development and qualification testing.  Devises tests to establish the root cause of problems; participates in design reviews; analyses and evaluates test data and characterizes product performance.
Knowledge of various types of standard lab instrumentation and data acquisition systems used for collecting Pressure, Flow, RPM, Current, Voltage, and Temperature data.
Experience performing setup, test, repair, disassembly and assembly of aircraft type hydraulic pumps, motors and hydraulic system components.
Knowledge of aerospace hydraulic, pumps, actuators, motors, and valves; internal components and their effect on the overall performance of the product.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.

 

 

Computer Skills:

 
Experienced in MS Word, Excel, Product Manager, Lotus Notes, Adobe Acrobat, MS Project, and MP2.
Programming experience
AutoCad or Catia

 

Additional qualities must include a ?can do? attitude and an individual that can work multiple tasks simultaneously.  The individual must be a motivated self-starter with a willingness to do ?whatever it takes? to complete the assigned task.  This individual must be willing to accept responsibility to meet accelerated project schedules and stringent test requirements.
