The Aircraft Finite Element Analyst for AgustaWestlandBell, based in the US, will work closely with the Structural modeling team of AgustaWestland in Europe.

 

Responsibilities

 

The job holder will maintain a US101 finite element structural model for AgustaWestlandBell to facilitate US-specific and US-restricted modifications using the same processes and data used by AgustaWestland in Europe.  The incumbent will operate in a team responsible for assuring the structural integrity of US-specific modifications and equipment installations for the US101 aircraft.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

? Knowledge and experience in the design, development and qualification of airframes.

? Degree in a relevant subject (eg aeronautical engineering, other engineering, science or mathematics) or HNC/HND/BTEC and Apprenticeship.

? Knowledge and experience in aeronautical engineering including the following:

? Knowledge of finite element modelling techniques.

? Knowledge of finite element mass ballasting techniques.

? Knowledge of finite element static and dynamic analysis techniques.

? Knowledge of finite element analysis tools especially Nastran, Patran.

? A good knowledge of the relevant airworthiness requirements related to airframes and vehicle systems.

? A knowledge of the overall static structural substantiation process from definition of external loads.

? Ability to operate with minimal supervision but ensure appropriate communication with customers and colleagues.

? Ability to understand engineering processes and the inter-dependency of the process components.

? Ability to make technical decisions based on sound engineering judgement.

? Capability to identify and direct improvements to processes.

? Ability to carry out technical tasks, ensuring the requirements are understood and the necessary activities are defined and undertaken to give the correct output.
