Application Engineering Specialist

Rolls-Royce is pleased to announce an opening for an Application Engineering Specialist in our Mt Vernon, Ohio facility.

 

The successful candidate will:

 

Provide package related technical data on time for the proposal based on the bid strategy set by bid leader and customer specifications. Establish GT package cost and delivery commitment for the proposal. Identify technical, cost, and delivery related risks associated with the bid. Lead all technical aspects of the proposal and act as point contact between CFBU and OBU. Provide technical, cost, and delivery related support to bid leader and customer based on the submitted proposal in order to win the project. Prepare OBU to execute the project as order date nears. Identify complete project technical definition and associated risks for successful execution by the project team. Establish a program both in terms of cost and schedule that is committed by the OBU & CFBU. Definition of package scope of supply. Comments & Exceptions to specifications. Rationalization of scope with BEF & approve BEF. Obtain major buy costs. Establish technical data & commit cost for aux equipment. Obtain delivery commitment. Identify technical, cost, and delivery related risks. Complete solution review for the bid. Determine deviation from baseline Std and present major deviations to PCB. On-time delivery of proposal. Provide technical, cost, and delivery related support to bid leader and customer based on the submitted proposal to win the project. Communicate any significant deviations to proposal to OBU and obtain re-commitment on cost and delivery. Finalize SDRL & ITP for the project. Translate the package scope of supply into an assembly list, identifying deviations from baseline. Develop SAP networks with Network / Build Planner. Transfer of project specifications & requirements (incl. SDRL, ITP, etc.) to internal & external supply chain. Management of Commitment acceptance with VS for engineering deliverables. Integration of engineering and assembly networks/activities. Commitment acceptance to deliver Cash, BoM, SDRL on time. Communication of schedule with PM and team members. Support Gate Check 1.???

 

Position requirements include:

 

5+ years High Value Engineering Rotating Equipment Experience. 2+ years Commercial / Bid Proposal Experience (costing, contracts, sales, technical selling). 2+ year?s customer interface experience exhibiting excellent technical communication skills.
