Rolls-Royce is pleased to announce an opening for a Business Venture Consultant in our Indianapolis, IN facility.
The successful candidate will:
Recommend business unit objectives and long-range plans to achieve growth and financial profitability through acquisitions, mergers and licensing agreements. Identify, investigate and analyze possible acquisition, merger and licensing opportunities. Act as business unit representative and negotiator in initial contact with candidates for merger, acquisition or licensing. Monitor markets, industries, companies, etc., or potential acquisition interests to maintain an updated information base. Serve as prime consultant and external spokesperson for the organization on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities and long-range goals and objectives.
Position requirements include:
Leadership - works well with others, develops effective relationships and coaches others to create an effective team that is focused on delivering results. Readily accountable for the delivery of results and metrics. Customer knowledge and focus - understands the defense market, knowledge of the US Government budgeting and procurement processes. Anticipates customer needs by strategic observation and data collection. Competitor awareness - has ability to form a broad view of the market customer and competitors and define how R-R should position itself for maximum value. Contact base (preferred) - is known and respected by DOD, DARPA, NASA and Weapon System Contractors. Functional / Technical skills - experience in Commercial, Finance, Program Management, Marketing, Strategy and Business Analysis preferred. Experience with Request For Proposals and Request For Information. Good awareness of technology difficulty and program complexity. Written / Presentation skills - exhibits excellent verbal communication skills accentuating the positive; proficient written communication skills. Capable of preparing technical briefs and proposals. Teamwork - routinely displays effective interpersonal, organization and teamwork skills, and ability to work well inside a matrix organization. Comfort around Higher Management, ability to interact comfortably with individuals at the highest organizational levels. Entrepreneurial - Exhibits high energy and willingness to accept appropriate risk. Education - Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Business or related discipline required, advanced degree preferred. Experience - 15 years experience preferable in aeronautical propulsion or aircraft systems. Travel - must be able to travel frequently.
