CMM Programming Specialist

The Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programming Specialist will be part of the Development Operations Automated Inspection Group. This group provides P&W Operations with services in the fields of CMM Programming in a wide variety of programming languages such as DMIS and Fortran as well as other programming languages. This position involves the development and verification of CMM programs for module center / aftermarket / supply chain applications, establishing and documenting CMM standard work, coaching other CMM Programmers in best practices, developing and implementing new inspection system capabilities as well as providing help-desk functions for P&W CMM Programmers. The CMM specialist will closely work with hourly personnel to have program enhancements made as well as transitioning to the DMIS standard. It is expected that master model concepts be applied when working with engineering product definition for CMM program generation. The CMM specialist actively drives the proliferation of graphical programming and graphical verification throughout P&W's manufacturing and aftermarket units.

BA/BS degree in engineering or technology, with 6-10+ years of experience.
MA/MS degree in engineering or technology, with 4-7+ years of experience.

Required:
-Must have minimum of 3 years CMM programming experience.
-Must have minimum of 3 years DMIS and Fortran experience.

Preferred:
-Candidate should have 6 or more years of technical experience and familiarization with manufacturing and Quality processes.
-Knowledge of the Pratt & Whitney Aftermarket Operations business.
-Experience in CMM programming using Unigraphics and validating CMM programs using a variety of tools.

Effective communication and close working relationships with shop personnel in module centers and aftermarket facilities are essential. The use of Pratt & Whitney ACE tools, particularly to correct root causes and to mistake proof processes, is expected. Occasional travel may be required.
