SUMMARY: Repair, modify, fabricate or overhaul aircraft components, tooling and other items requested as it pertains to the machinist trade.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
' Read and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery.
' Responsible for the programming, set-up and operation of computer numeric controlled production equipment.
' Operates production equipment to fabricate, repair and modify customer parts in accordance with applicable data.
' Accomplish and/or perform assigned machining and fabrication tasks as delegated by leadership.
' Assist engineering as required during tooling and test fixture design and fabrication processes.
' Work with leadership to uphold and improve current company standards of performance, housekeeping to include 5S, and professionalism.
Update all paperwork prior to shift change or work stoppage.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
' Good verbal and written communication skills
' Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings and documents as well as convey, conceptualize, and transpose thoughts and ideas of a mechanical nature into a working drawing via CAD/CAM or industry standard isometric and/or orthographic projection.
' Ability to perform CNC and manual machining functions as required including the fabrication, modification, and repair/overhaul of aircraft parts, assemblies, and components in a safe and organized manor, while maintaining established expectations for quality and efficiency.
' Possess a basic understanding of aircraft systems and components including a fundamental concept of how the two interrelate.
' Working knowledge of basic mathematical skills as related to the machinist trade including the ability to perform computations utilizing linear algebra, plane geometry, and right angle trigonometry.
' Fundamental knowledge of problem solving related to general physics and mechanics. This includes the ability to perform simple calculations relating to unit conversion, inertia, force, velocity, acceleration, work, and energy.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
' High school diploma or equivalent AND at minimum three years of related work experience OR equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
' An apprenticeship and/or formal training of programming, operation and setup of CNC lathes and mills preferred.
