COMPONENT ENGINEER

·   Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates parts, components or integrated circuitry for equipment.

?  Conducts feasibility studies on new designs.

?  Identifies problem areas and selects methods and techniques for arriving at solutions.

?  Interfaces with product design staff to ensure that processes and designs are compatible.

?  Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.

?  Provides advice and guidance to technicians.

?  Review and correct drafts of technical documentation relevant to features assigned to incumbent.

?  Assist other departments in understanding the functionality and design of assigned features.

?  Completes all tasks according to schedules and priorities set forth by the incumbent?s supervision.

?  Provides supervisor with progress reports on a routine basis.

Provide support to various engineers in the selection and approval of electronic and mechanical components including integrated circuits, surface mount devices, discrete semiconductors, capacitors, resistors, connectors, switches and other devices used in the design and production of military and industrial equipment.  All work is done according to company standards and in direct cooperation with other project personnel

BSEET degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
