Education

Bachelor Degree preferred (or equivalent work experience), FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificates (required), FAA Inspection Authorization (required).

QualificationsFour (4) years of direct product quality inspection/verification; two (2) years management/ leadership role; four (4) years part 145 repair station experience; full and complete knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, including; parts 21, 23, 33, 39, 43, 45, 91, 121, 135, 145.

Secondary Skills:
SAP business system, Microsoft Office Suite, NDT/NDI (Level III/IV), Previous ODAR/DAR.

 

Primary ResponsibilitiesResponsible for; product quality and airworthiness, performs in-process, and final inspection, and return to service of aircraft and aircraft related articles, approves major repair/major alteration of aircraft and aircraft related articles, issues and maintains quality control authorizations under ? 145, ensuring the repair station complies with the applicable maintenance and inspection program of the operator, ensuring the repair station adheres to all quality control processes and procedures, ensuring those persons holding quality control authorizations comply with the processes and procedures necessary to promote and maintain product quality and airworthiness, creates, edits, and manages Repair Station procedures and forms as needed, ensures the repair station maintains its calibrated tooling in compliance with ? 145, ensures the repair station maintains its technical data and has current and applicable technical data for the articles it maintains, performs compliance audits for internal/ external operations as needed.

Physical Requirements:
The Chief Inspector position is hands-on position, working on and around aircraft performing inspections and validations of product quality and airworthiness. This position will require prolonged sitting, standing, accessing internal and external areas of aircraft, lifting of tooling and equipment, exposure to some chemicals used in the maintenance process. Exposure to flightline; turbine powered aircraft noise.
