Configuration Management Analyst

SUMMARY:   The person in this role will provide oversight, control and management of the software development lifecycle and documentation environment.  Will create and maintain configuration management standards which are reliable and repeatable in software build processes across applications; will enable consistent and repeatable deployment of software builds to the Development, QA (Testing) and Production environments by implementing standardized processes across applications.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
Conduct specific Software Configuration Management activities such as Configuration Identification, Configuration Control, Status Accounting, Configuration Verification, Storage Handling of Delivery Media and data management for project Configuration Items (CIs).
Perform software builds.
Utilize automated tools to document, track, and revise requirements documentation.
Work with IT staff to design and maintain SCM tool architecture.
Perform data management activities for all project related information; maintain user permissions, and file/folder structures.
Maintain project configuration management plan and file management plan and maintain CI product repositories to include requirements management tools.

? Recommend configuration management and data management tools solutions suitable for program activities.

? Review software life cycle data (including planning, requirements, design, test and accomplishment summary documents) for compliance with standards and process (configuration management, revision history, etc).

? Develop cost estimates for Software CM program tasks.
Responsible for preparing a Configuration Management Plan.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 
Technical Bachelor?s degree from an accredited engineering or technical school and at least six years of experience in software quality configuration management is required.
Experience with administrating Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest software architecture is required.
Detailed knowledge of Configuration Management principles and processes; Data Management principles and processes; CMM/SEI processes and procedures; MIL_HNBK 61
Hands-on Rational tool experience is required, at least three years is preferred.
Ability to write scripts in PERL
Knowledge of the windows and UNIX development environment is desired.
Must have experience with CMMI to Level 3, ISO 9001:200 implementations, experience with AS9100 is a plus.
Good communication skills
Ability to travel
