Contract Aircraft/Airframe Structural Analyst w/NASTRAN & LS-DYNA®

Looking for a Structural Analyst for an Aircraft Outfit located in Los Angeles, CA

This is a 12+ month CONTRACT assignment



The structures development engineer will used to support development of a composite airframe. The candidate will be used primarily in performing finite element analysis of aircraft components and systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conceptual design of aircraft structure and load path.

Conduct analyses supporting crash-worthiness development using LS-DYNA?.

Development of finite element models supporting internal loads and structural analysis of primary structure using NASTRAN.

Develop test plans and statements of work for static/dynamic testing of elements and components.

Prepare and present results, findings and conclusions.

Additional responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

Conduct design trade studies and determine through failure mode analysis the key issues

to?be resolved.

Conduct various technical interchange meetings internally and with other team partners.

Support the Technology Development Manager to meet project deliverables.

SKILLS

Fiber reinforced composite analysis and testing experience.



Proficient in MS Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

EDUCATION

Masters or a Ph.D. degree in engineering, with 5-10 years practical experience performing advanced, nonlinear structural analysis using general-purpose finite element codes such as LS-DYNA?.

Minimum of 5 years practical experience performing advanced structural analysis using general-purpose finite element codes such as NASTRAN.
