Director of Engineering

A major defense contractor in Florida has an immediate need for a Director of Engineering to manage and direct the activities of more than 30 technical employees, and departments.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directs and manages engineering efforts for the design, development and production of ordnance packages, integrated ordnance systems and munitions
Confers with general/program management, marketing staff to determine engineer feasibility, cost effectiveness, customer demand for new and existing products.
Supervises engineering team leads and department employees; contributes to development of project/program plans; ensures successful completion of engineering tasks.
Leads System Engineering development, documentation and implementation efforts, and company initiative to achieve Capability Maturity I Level 3 certification.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in Systems Engineering, and DoD Acquisition Systems required.
BS in Engineering or related field required; advanced engineering degree preferred.
5+ years minimum experience in personnel management and team leadership.
10+ years experience in engineering project management.
Experience in planning/developing programs for the design, development and production of munitions.
Basic knowledge of test and evaluation processes, and ability to prepare and present briefings. Experienced in EVMS as a tracking tool, a plus.

 

Must be capable of attaining a DoD Security clearance

This position reports to the Director of Operations
