Document Control Clerk

Major Purpose of Position

The document control clerk maintains and updates all documents pertaining to the company quality system as well as all blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings & at some locations work orders.

Job Functions

1. Receives all applicable documents from their source and verifies them for completeness and proper approvals.  Once verified the document is logged in or in the case of a new new document it is logged in and added to the "master list" and is filed.

2. Issue's documents to, approved personnel and logs them out.

3. Marks and stores obsolete documents as instructed in the quality manual.

4. In some locations may be required to compile customer data packages and present them to the Quality Engineer for review.

5. Maintains a master list complete with all latest revisions and changes.  In some locations maintains internal and supplier corrective action system.

Organizing and Planning

Plan and use time wisely to meet the company's document needs.  Organizing documents in a way that make pulling and issuing an efficient process is very important.

Communications

Must be able to communicate with all authorized personnel on a technical level and be well versed in document terminology.

Knowledge Requirements

A working knowledge of blueprints and complete understanding of the dcocument control procedures as described in the company work instruction, are essential.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
