Engineer, Systems Analyst, Job # 3128

Essential Job Functions Under general supervision and following established policies, performs system engineering assignments requiring full use of standard engineering principles and techniques as well as a working knowledge of other related disciplines. Work with integrated product teams in a  development/low rate production environment.

50% Defines rocket propulsion system architecture and objectives. Performs preliminary sizing analysis and power balance and transient analysis for rocket propulsion systems using system simulation software tools including Matlab/Simulink and custom software applications. Perform functional analysis and conduct system trade studies. Select concept baselines that optimize cost/benefit trades. Provide system fault tolerance, health monitoring, and/or control system algorithms.

25% Develops rocket propulsion hardware and software requirements. Responsible for derivation of internal requirements, requirements allocation, and compliance management. Defines verification plans using customer requirements and contract statement of work (SOW).

25% Develop software applications using several programing languages (Fortran, C+, VisualBasic, etc.) and other software that wrap analytical tools and optimize propulsion systems.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree (preferred) in Aerospace Engineering or appropriate discipline/science, with coursework in propulsion systems and Systems Engineering, and two years of directly applicable industry technical experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).  Rocket propulsion industry technical experience preferred. Experience with DOORS or equivalent requirements management software desirable. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
