Engineering Technician

This position is located in Clyde, NY and is temp to hire.

 

Key responsibilities for this position include:

?  Prepare first article paperwork and measure product.  Regular customer interaction.

?  Balloon drawings ? review drawings to identify key characteristics and inspection processes.

?  Review supplier first article paperwork for acceptance to standards.

?  Understand measurement techniques/statistics and perform Gage R&R studies on various types of equipment.

?  Define ?standard? work instructions.

?  Participate in process development on new manufacturing programs and develop measurement techniques for these new parts.  Aid in the manufacture of development and other short run manufacturing products.

?  Create improved process documentation on legacy programs.

?  Perform time studies.

?  Read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, and quality requirements.

 

Qualifications:

? Requires a minimum of four years related experience, trade or military training, and the demonstrated ability to perform the described responsibilities in the quality and manufacturing engineering areas.

? Requires an Associates Degree in a technical field.

? Must be knowledgeable of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

? Requires an advanced level of MicroSoft Office computer skills (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint).  CAD experience required.

? Must possess metrology skills including knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and Smartscope.

? Must be familiar with First Article paperwork application and review.

? Requires familiarity with manufacturing processes in metal working.

? Must possess knowledge and understanding of lean processes and techniques.

? Prefer a background with statistical analysis, specifically Minitab.

? Demonstrated problem solving capabilities.

? Must demonstrate effective communication skills.

? Ability to work independently and make decisions based on written procedures and criteria.

? Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

? May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
