GSE Mechanic

Performs daily maintenance and preventive maintenance on all ground service equipment. Duties include, but are not limited to, inspecting, maintaining, and modifying ground equipment used in the support of ASIG operations; servicing equipment with fuel, water, oil, hydraulic fluid, and compressed air; troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, and modifying ground equipment; diagnosing problems using test equipment, and applicable manuals; removing, testing, repairing, or replacing components and accessories such as carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition points and auditory sensors; checking and adjusting tolerance of valves, bearings, cams, clutches, and drive shafts; operating and testing ground equipment for performance assessment; replacing bearings, bushings, shafts, end plates, brushes, springs, coils, armatures, push rods, valves, manifolds, tubing, hose, and wiring as required; follow company safety policies and procedures; and the ability to comply with attendance/tardiness standards.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must provide necessary tools and have knowledge of all aspects of ground support equipment used in the operation. Ability to read and comprehend instructions; short correspondence, and memos; write correspondence; and effectively present information to a diverse group of people; add subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations; regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and required FAA, airport and/or Customs identification, seals, and authorizations.
