Lead CAD Designer - PDM Administrator

Tri Alpha Energy, Inc. is a unique small company preparing to embark on the construction of a new project in the area of energy research. The company has been conducting research and development efforts in association with local academia, national labs, and an international consortium of technological institutions culminating in this exciting new effort.

The near-term objective of the company is to successfully design, manufacture and operate an electro-mechanical system with multiple interchangeable sub-systems. You will use your past experience and creative talent to provide solutions to unique design situations in the vacuum and high power electrical arenas.

 

Applicants with experience in research and development will cherish this type of opportunity. Successful applicant will be the company?s Lead Designer. They will also be responsible for companywide CAD and PDM administration. The chosen CAD platform for this project is SolidWorks.

 

The hired candidate will also train and supervise SolidWorks and PDMWorks users as required, specify software and hardware purchases, generate project plans and schedules, update and maintain CAD systems, standards, and a library of symbols.

 Recent experience with SolidWorks 2006 and PDMWorks is required.10 years in progressively more responsible design and drafting positions with some experience managing CAD department and document control.Extensive knowledge of mechanical design & manufacturing. Particular experience with large assemblies and prototyping is desirable.Vacuum technology, pressure vessels, or magnet design is a plus. High voltage design and familiarity with electrical isolation useful.Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing required.Experience with ASME Y14.5MBachelors Degree from an accredited university preferred but not required. Must have great knowledge of the engineering process and manufacturing gained from hands on experience in the industry as well as practical knowledge of mechanical components and interactions.
