Lead, Drafter

Rolls-Royce is pleased to announce an opening for a Lead, Drafter in our Mount Vernon, OH facility.

The successful candidate will:

Reporting to the Controls Engineering Manager, your principle accountabilities will include the following: Wholly responsible for management of team of Electrical Designers/Drafters to provide work direction and leadership. Liaison with Controls Engineers, as appropriate, for execution of Controls project deliverables. Co-ordinate distribution of work amongst Electrical Designers/Drafters to execute deliverables across multi-projects and to co-ordinate checking process. Assign electrical drafting work packages, as appropriate, for execution on time and to budget. Perform monthly Capacity planning for the department based on the forecast of projects for future work. Utilizing computer-aided design equipment, develops basic data and to make preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal. Checks completed drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning. Liaison with the manufacturing facility of the organization to make practical decisions.

Position requirements include:

Experienced Lead Electrical Designer with experience in Design of Electrical Control Panels including Logic Diagrams, Panel Layout, Communications diagrams and Electrical Schematics. Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and/or Promise-E a plus for Electrical Schematics. Familiarity/experience with electrical/mechanical interface of heavy machinery as well as the controls and instrumentation interface; turbo machinery and/or power generation equipment. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with, and manage a team. PC skills in Windows environment. Willingness travel domestically and internationally, if required. Applicants shall have completed an engineering technical trade school and progressed through the drafting family and have at least five years design experience.?????
