Lead Performance Engineer

Education

B. S. in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering

QualificationsAn in-depth understanding of subsonic aircraft performance, including turbine engine performance.
An in-depth understanding of FAA Part 23, subpart B performance.
Programming skills for development and modification of existing Eclipse analysis tools.
Experience in planning and conducting developmental and certification flight testing for Part 23 turbine powered airplanes.
Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team, demonstrated ability to lead a team.

Secondary Skills:
Experience in developing aerodynamic configurations to achieve performance goals (drag, fuel burn, payload, range, etc).
Experience in preliminary design of Part 23 turbine aircraft.

 

Primary ResponsibilitiesAnalysis and flight test data reduction of aircraft performance to meet FAA certification requirements.
Preparation of performance reports, including FAA compliance reports.
Preparation of Airplane Flight Manual performance information.
Perfomance estimation to support engineering, marketing and training.
Development and upkeep of aircraft performance computer programs.
All of the above include engine performance as an element.
