Manager, Financial Operations(AR06)

Responsible for the successful operation of the financial and accounting functions of Aerojet.
- Organize and direct the work of individuals and/or project teams in all aspects of assigned projects.
- Ensures existence, adequacy and compliance with good fiscal control procedures.
- Supervises the maintenance of accurate financial records and the development of financial reports,
statements and forecasts.
- Provides guidance pertaining to accounting and financial matters.
- Performs short and long range planning and implements approved plans.
- Assures that activities within defined scope are accomplished in accordance with Aerojet policies, sound
business practices, and are in compliance with Department of Defense regulations.

1. Continual – Controls all non-payroll related cash disbursement activities of approximately ~$100m/year (Procurements, check requests, freight, wire transfers, and petty cash).
2. Continual – Manages and supervises AP exempt and non-exempt personnel (6-8).
3. 5% Responsible for implementation of internal controls and policies governing cash disbursement processes.
4. 5% Responsible for accuracy and completeness of accounts payable and accrued liability accounts
5. 5% Maintain master files of all lease and rental agreements, evaluate lease classification for financial reporting, and provide financial disclosures relating to minimum future lease payments.
6. 5% Responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of procedures and controls and recommending changes and improvements.
7. 10% Responsible for support of sales and use tax matters for multi-state organization and IRS 1099 reporting.
8. Timely resolution of all problem accounts and aging issues
9. Continual – Training and development of departmental staff

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance and at least 7 years of experience in the field. Requires demonstrated supervisory skills (experience supervising a transactional accounting function is desirable) including the ability to plan and coordinate the activities of assigned orgganization. Requires ability to provide technical and administrative leadership to accomplish organization goals and commitments.Requires Gov't experience with EAC and Earned Value.



Must have an understanding of applicable laws and requirements, including experience with GAAP, FAR, and government accounting regulations and government contracting.

This position utilizes Oracle, PeopleSoft, Outtask, as well as most Microsoft Office sofware products to perform the AP functions.
