Manufacturing Engineer

AMETEK Aerospace & Defense, Rotron BU, provides highly reliable AC and brushless DC motors, fans, blowers, heat exchangers, fault detection devices, electronic power conversion devices and a variety of subassemblies and systems to military and aerospace customers worldwide.

We now have an opportunity for a seasoned Manufacturing Engineer who will develop and specify manufacturing operations, including operational sequence, tooling, and methods to efficiently meet quality and quantity requirements of a variety of product lines and originate and updates process sheet.

Specific responsibilities include:

 
Documentation of instructions and refinements together with the necessary control for current product lines manufacture.
Specifies equipment and tool setups, operating and maintenance instructions in sufficient detail to document for departmental use.
Design of work place layouts, and working with area supervisor, design or recommend revision in layout and use of facilities within work centers or manufacturing departments.
Provide technical assistance to manufacturing departments, engineering and material control to eliminate unnecessary operations or clarify process instructions.
Investigate equipment and tooling problems, develops equipment downtime and cost of maintenance analysis, and make recommendations to supervisor on improvements. Identify new or additional equipment needs related to existing product manufacture.
Work closely with all levels in an advisory and instructional capacity.
Participate and assist in advanced projects for new products related to process and equipment requirements.
Establishment of time standards, the development of standard data for production, operations, process information for various low volume type operations.
Analyze the efficiency of manufacturing and takes corrective action to improve costs.
Identify potential bottlenecks and costly operations; makes necessary recommendations, including cost analysis of estimated savings, and upon approval to proceed, follows through to achieve satisfactory functioning of improvements.
