Manufacturing Inspection QA Lead

Education

Bachelors Degree required, 10 years aviation Production Lead / Supervisory experience in place of degree will be considered.  A&P License is desired.

Qualifications

Ability to read engineering drawings, knowledge of aircraft assembly practices, must have experience in fastener installations, ability to analyze and solve problems.  Communicates effectively and provide clear instructions.  Practice and demonstrate a quality oriented approach to work, provide training to other team members, and have experience in FAA conformity activity.  NDT, Dye-Penetrant inspection experience desired.  Should have experience / understanding of AS9100 requirements.

Secondary Skills:  Experience with assembly tools such as drill motors, rivet guns, torque wrenches, inclinometers, tensionometers, pressure gauges, functional test equipment, tool calibration (hand tool and assembly hard tooling).

 

Primary Responsibilities

Guide / Coach inspection and production personnel in a day to day production activity.  Will be required to manage in-process inspection in a rapidly moving production line.  Must be a results oriented leader focusing on Quality Improvement mythology.  Must be able to interface with all levels of management, suppliers, and FAA representatives.  Must be customer focused.

Physical requirements: May have periods of prolonged standing, will be required to maneuver into confined areas and under / above aircraft structure.  May require being subjected to periods of engine noise.
