Material Testing Technician

Education

Associate degree in related technical field or equivalent experience.

QualificationsCandidate shall have good verbal and written communication and computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Office applications and competence with MS Word and MS Excel a must. Also required are good organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret dimensions for blueprints and/or sketches. Candidate must also be familiar with the use of forming tools, hand tools, drills, grinders, saws, etc. to complete fabrication of test articles.

Secondary Skills:
Previous experience with tensile and fatigue testing and metallographic sample preparation desired. Familiarity aerospace materials and processes a plus. Photographic and image analysis experience desirable.

Primary ResponsibilitiesPrepare test articles and perform tensile, fatigue and hardness testing. Prepare samples for and perform microscopic examination. Prepare test procedures and set-up test equipment. Document test results and
prepare test reports.

Physical Requirements:
Light lifting.
