Materials Engineer

Belcan AETD is currently looking a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Hamilton Sundstrand office.  Candidate must have a B.S. degree in Mechanical, Materials or Aerospace Engineering.  The successful candidate will have a strong background in material properties, testing and certification. The engineer will create prints for existing source control drawings and replace them with new material specifications.  Aerospace Procurement Documents (APDs) will also be created to control the source of supply. The successful candidate will review material properties, material safety data sheets, application requirements and interface with suppliers. The engineer will then work with vendors, designers, manufacturing engineers, purchasing and supplier quality groups to develop capable suppliers while minimizing cost and lead-times.  Product qualification, endurance or reliability testing on these parts/materials may be required along with technical reports.  Applicants should have good interpersonal and communications skills, should be proficient in using Microsoft Word.
