Materials Engineer Job # 2827

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Polymeric materials engineer with rocket materials and process development interest and skills.

80%- Polymeric materials Engineering support for propulsion hardware design, fabrication and test. Develop and
characterize elastomers, ceramics, polymeric matrix composite materials, ablatives and adhesive bonding systems.
Develop composite chamber and nozzle processes for transition to production. Contacts include interactions with
customers on technical matters which often requires strong technical presentation skills.

10% Generate reports to document technical conclusions and findings.

10% Participate in design reviews and customer technical interchange meetings.

TYPICAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Polymeric Engineering, Materials Science or related major and two years of directly related
engineering/technical experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Direct experience in
ablative manufacturing, filament winding and tape wrapping processes is desirable. Advanced degree preferred.
Knowledge of material database is desirable.Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance as a
condition of employment.
