Mechanical Design Engineer (Gas Turbine Components)

Belcan AETD is currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design of gas turbine engine external components in our Hamilton Sundstrand office.  Candidates MUST HAVE a Bachelor?s Degree in either Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and at least two years experience in mechanical design with solid modeling and analysis tools.  The successful aspirant will be a core member of an Integrated Product Development Team and will participate in the design of gas turbine engine external fuel, lubrication, electronic and air management systems.  The systems will be developed using computer design, modeling and analysis tools such as Unigraphics (V18) Solid Modeling, as well as, in-house thermal and structural analysis tools. The systems are designed from concept through manufacture including support of airframe/engine integration requirements.  Successful candidates will possess the creative design skills in engine externals arrangement and packaging, which achieve low cost, maintainable systems that meet structural durability and functional requirements.  Design responsibilities include; plumbing and ducting systems, component mounts, castings, forgings and sheet metal brackets.  Candidates should have good communication, teaming and computer skills and be able to interface effectively with customers and suppliers.  Former Hamilton Sundstrand employees are preferred.
