Mechanical Designer

L-3 Communications, Linkabit Division is engaged in the development of state-of-the-art communications and signal intelligence systems. We?re currently seeking an innovative Mechanical Designer to join our unique team as we continue our history of excellence.

 

The Mechanical Designer will be an integral part of our project development team, directly supporting the Mechanical Engineering group.  The right candidate must be experienced working in multi-disciplined teams to design and document mechanical systems and components.  Applicants must have current Solidworks experience in the Defense, aerospace or electronics industries. 

 

A qualified candidate will have a minimum of 5 years mechanical design/drafting experience with electro-mechanical and mechanical designs including sheet metal, machined parts, cable assemblies, PCB assemblies,  etc. Prior machine and/or sheetmetal shop experience is desirable.  Manufacturing support & design for manufacturing experience is a plus.  In addition, the right candidate must be professional, flexible, a self-starter and problem solving in nature.

 

An AA degree in drafting or related major is preferred.  Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, model/drawing checking and cable design are also desired.
