Mechanical Engineer - Thermal Analysis- Melbourne/Palm Bay, FL

Education:   Minimum of a BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Sciences and Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent (MA/MS preferred).

 

Responsibilities:  Will perform thermal design and analysis tasks on space borne structures, antennas, reflectors, payloads, etc. in a program team environment.  Program support will include mission/requirements definition, concept generation, trade studies, design sensitivity/optimization studies, preliminary and final design, and integration test support.  Ability to lead thermal design team and interface with customer including presenting thermal design review packages.

 

Qualifications:  Experience with industry common thermal analysis codes such as SINDA, TRASYS, and TSS.  Minimum 5 years applied space thermal design and analysis experience.  General knowledge of and experience with space thermal control hardware such as thermal coatings, multi-layer insulation, heaters, heat pipes, thermal mounts, etc.  Familiarity with MIL-STD-1540 test requirements, space thermal environments, and payload/S/C thermal interfaces also desired.
