Mechanical Process Engineer

This individual is responsible for working with the government process engineers, government engineering authority and the Standard Aero design team to provide technical support with any of the MRO processes performed within the customer?s facility. The support will typically involve providing possible alternatives to current shop practices, optimizations of the current process, and / or de-conflicting process requirements with cellular design requirements. The work will be performed within the customer?s facility (Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City).

 

Job DutiesPerform detailed technical research using government Technical Orders, industry standards and other sources of technical data,Collect information by interviewing equipment operators, technicians and engineering staff members (government, SA and OEM),Evaluate components and processes to determine if more appropriate processes exist or if the existing process may be optimized, Create written technical proposals for recommended process modifications,Prevent / resolve challenges by coordinating between persons within a team and with other teams, Provide technical / process support to design and implementation teams as required, andPerform all other duties as assigned.

 

RequirementsAbility to work well in a multifunctional team to include suppliers and customer representatives; and ability to lead such teams when required. Should be diplomatically persuasive or assertive when necessary,Ability to work in an open, shop floor level environment with fast paced operations and changing requirements,Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills,Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision,Strong project management skills. Ability to deliver work product in accordance to established timeline. Ability to effectively coordinate multiple activities,Thorough knowledge of customer and company processes, process instructions and rework process instruction manuals and aerospace materials,University degree in metallurgy, mechanical or chemical engineering; or equivalent,Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing process engineering environment,Experience working in a military or government environment, preferred,Working knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment,Advanced skills in Microsoft? Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Project. Working knowledge of AutoCad? LT 2006, preferred,Ability to travel when required,Ability to obtain the required security clearances and vehicle passes.
