Metallics M & P Engineer
Metallics M & P Engineer 1. Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities.
2. Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgement in anticipating and solving complex engineering problems, and in developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
3. Responsible for an important segment of the engineering program with extensive and diversified engineering requirements..
4. Independently conceives, plans, and conducts research in problem areas of considerable scope and complexity. Is a recognized leader and authority in an area of specialization. Conceives and plans investigations of broad areas of considerable importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas of critical to the overall engineering program. Is consulted extensively by associates and others, as a recognized authority within the field.
5. Actively works to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements.
6. Maintains a current and up-to-date knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve the quality economy, and effectiveness of the company product.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
1. This position is for Materials & Processes Engineer/Metallic Materials.
2. Bachelor degree in engineering concentrating in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, or Materials Engineering.
3. Minimum 10 years of directly related experience in manufacturing / production / design experience with metallic materials (aluminum, ferrous, titanium) and fabrication processes (welding, heat treat, forming, machining, fastening, NDT inspection, etc) or 15 years experience with broad experience in several of the above metallic materials disciplines.
4. Experience in corrosion/corrosion control, and metallic materials failure analysis desired.
5. Must have experience with aircraft engineering design support (design and drawing review).
6. Must have experience with process development/materials applications and trouble-shooting in an aircraft production environment.
7. Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Experience with Canvas or other graphics tools desired.
