Network Control Technician

Security Level: Must have ability to obtain a security clearance.

Education Requirement/ Years Experience: A.S. in Technical Field or equivalent experience

Job Description: Provide technical support for all the Federal Aviation Administration Telecommunication Infrastructure (FTI) network services. The engineer will have experience analyzing symptoms for accurate isolation of customer and network problems. The engineer must be proficient in the analysis of fractional Enterprise Data networks, including fractional T1, T1, fractional T3, T3, Ethernet, IP and Remote Access. Expertise in the following network equipment is also preferred: Cisco, Eastern Research, and APC. Resolve problems using internal and external groups as needed to correct trouble on the FTI network and interact with the customer and must be able to work multiple shifts.

Responsible for performing audits and tests of hardware and software products in accordance with software test plans and procedures. Uses functional area tools to support hardware and software development and/or test and integration of systems. Debugs and characterizes defects, providing detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing tests for test reports. Maintains documentation of test operations and reports results to engineering. Identifies actual or potential problems in test plans or network deployments and integrations.
