Principal Database Administrator

Preferred or Required Skills: Designs, implements, and maintains database systems. Analyzes needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develops technical, structural, and organizational specifications, in addition to systems integration, which may include client/servers, mainframes, etc. Must be familiar with DoD Total Asset Visibility systems e.g. JTAV, IDAV, etc. May program (.Net, Java, C++), develop specifications, and DB design may include such elements as access methods, access time, job control language, statistical methodologies, device allocation, validation checks, protection, and security. Maintains and enhances technical aspects of database system. Experience should include knowledge of USSOCOM Headquarters policies and procedures including an understanding of the organizational relationships with its SOF Component Commands and/or equivalent level experience is important. Must have the capability to develop process flow charts and develop system architectures. Familiarity with SOF and special operations support mechanisms are preferred. Occasional travel to SOFSA, SOF Component Commands, and Service Components may be required (2 times per quarter).

 

Typical Minimum Experience and Education: 6 Years, with a B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics
