QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER

MicroSat Systems, Inc. (MSI) is a small (<50 person) company located in Littleton, CO that designs and builds small (typically < 500kg), low cost, high performance satellites and satellite subsystems, primarily for military customers. 

 

This position reports to the President and is responsible for planning, scheduling, implementing and managing the quality assurance system for R&D and production spacecraft and spacecraft component programs, and is also the Quality and Mission Assurance lead for Air Force Spacecraft programs. This person will maintain and improve the company?s ISO-9001 compliant Quality system.  The QA Manager will ensure that adequate processes and procedures are in place and are complied with. Detailed knowledge of military specification QA requirements and methods is required.

 

The QA manager will create, review, release and verify/maintain configuration control of documents from the proposal preparation phase to product delivery. Additionally, the QA Manager will prepare written and oral presentations, perform training of personnel, maintain the calibration system and ensure calibration of inspection, test & manufacturing tooling, survey vendors for compliance to MSI requirements, maintain approved vendor lists, determine nonconformance causes,  implement corrective actions and process improvement solutions and provide summary weekly reports.

 

The successful candidate will have 5 -10 years of experience in the launch vehicle or satellite industry as a Quality Engineer, with knowledge of contracting, subcontracting, manufacturing, integration and test of complex vehicles, electronics, structures and software.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills required. 

 

Ability to obtain a government security clearance is highly desired.
