Rotable Material Buyer/Administrator

Job Summary

Procurement of rotable, commercial aircraft parts as required or directed.  Processes request for quotes, issues purchase orders, reconciles issues and expedites all orders.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities 

Service Levels:  Understands the expectation of achieving the level of service commitment made by the department in the procurement of rotable parts for shop support, ad-hoc sales requirements, rotable spares pool.  Uses the reporting on the service commitment to maintain department?s goal requirements.

 

Requisition, Purchase Order and Process Duties:  As required or directed, processes and reviews the daily reporting on sales quote, sales and inventory activity.  Solicits quotes from approved suppliers, negotiates price and delivery for the best value to the company.  Expedites all delinquent orders and confirms they are available in a timely manner.  Processes rejections, credit returns and reconciles all invoicing issues.

 

 Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMinimum of two years purchasing experience.  Direct experience purchasing aircraft components is preferred.  Aircraft or aircraft component maintenance experience beneficial. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with managers, inspectors, customer service and technical support groups. Ability to access and interpret technical information from a variety of sources such as Component Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, Engineering Orders, and other technical references. Ability to work to strict deadlines within both technical and quality requirements, FAA regulatory requirements and engineering requirements.  Proficient in using inventory control systems and Microsoft Office computer applications. Must have a strong work ethic, positive attitude and be committed to team effort. High School diploma required, some college beneficial
