SALES ENGINEER

Job Summary

 

The Sales Engineer plays a key role in the organization.  The Sales Engineer is a key customer liaison who visits and communicates with customers.  Critical to the Sales Engineer?s responsibilities are the gathering of accurate and complete details of customer requirements and specifications and ensuring that customers are informed as to the production status and delivery dates of their parts. Duties and Responsibilities

 Responds to customer inquiries and changes in parts specifications in a timely manner.Communicates and documents changes in parts specifications through the General Manager so that such changes can be addressed and implemented in a timely manner.Prepares and submits documentation for customers detailing scheduling of production of parts, delivery dates and complete manufacturing plans as necessary; this information should be closely coordinated with the latest production schedule.Attends daily production meeting at least once per week to ensure proper communication of customer requirements; provides customer requirements to assist in setting production priorities. Prospects for new business opportunities for parts manufacture with prospective and existing customers consistent with the current marketing strategy for Heizer Aerospace.  This prospecting must be closely coordinated with the Senior Vice President.Communicates new opportunities for parts production and sales to the Senior Vice President for review and evaluation.Examines customer drawings to determine relevant material, manufacturing methods, equipment requirements and tooling necessary to complete the part.Assists Senior Vice President in the completion of the detailed quotations to customers.Visits customers both at customer facilities and at Heizer facilities to maintain open communications and good customer relations.
