SENIOR AVIONICS HARDWARE DESIGN ENGINEER



Hardware design, development, test and performance of sensor-based avionics electronic systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Work on projects from concept development, through the design and development stage to the testing of prototypes, following through to transfer to manufacturing Hardware design, development, test and performance of sensor-based avionics electronic systems including sensor analog interface circuitry, analog to digital conversion circuitry, digital signal processing hardware, and communications hardware Responsible for the Electromagnetic interference (EMI)  protection design, development and testing to DO-160E specificationsResponsible for power system design, development, and testing to DO-160E specificationsProduce hardware design specifications, hardware design documentation and schematics Develop the system architecture of sensor-based inertial products/systems and work with the customer's technical team as required.

REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Experience with avionics electronics and avionics standards including DO-160E EMI and power requirementsExperience in designing, building, and testing analog front ends, DSP-based systems, EMI protection systems, DC power supplies, and communication interfaces required.  Proven track record of successfully completing designs per specifications, validating designs and working with the design team is required. Must be familiar with Spice and/or other electronic design tools.  Proven track record of designing quality hardware in aviation products.  Experience with the Texas Instruments DSP family, Xscale, or ARM processors is valuable. Proficiency with sensors, especially inertial sensors, and wireless networks is valuable. The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter capable of accomplishing projects with a minimum of supervision. Experience in creating requirements and specifications documents, documenting design and releasing through ECO process is a must.
