Senior Buyer

POSITION SUMMARY:  Israel Aircraft Industries International (IAII), a wholly owned subsidiary of Israel Aircraft Industries Ltd. (IAI Ltd.) has a position available immediately for a Senior Buyer to be located in our newly consolidated Arlington, Virginia facility.  Under minimal direction, Buyer will perform tasks related to the acquisition of commodities, equipment, and services in accordance with established purchasing procedures and applicable laws.  Such tasks will include:  Source selection, procuring goods and services, developing proposals, negotiating prices, terms and conditions, and executing both complex and routine purchases.  Additionally, Buyer will provide all procurement related support for IAI Ltd. and oversee other buyers in their procurement activity.

 

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Participates in identification of suppliers Manages high profile solicitations by reviewing and analyzing bids submitted by suppliers Manages the RFP process Reviews and approves departmental purchase orders  Provides guidance by training and advising other buyers in purchasing procedures and techniques Assists in the development, revision and/or implementation of department policies.  Reviews methods, systems, and procedures for effectiveness and efficiency. Conducts cost/benefit analysis, risk assessment and other decision analysis techniques in support of purchasing efforts. Evaluates supplier performance to ensure satisfaction and implements appropriate corrective action when required.

Knowledge of:Automated purchasing systems Contract law, terms and conditions Spreadsheets, databases, and word processing Federal Acquisition Regulations and other requirements to support work for a U.S. Government Contract

 

Skills in:Contract development Cost/price analysis Negotiation Resolving contractual issues

 

REQUIREMENTS

 Bachelor's degree in Business or related field Minimum ten years experience in a major procurement environment Aerospace industry background preferred CPM preferred
