Senior Hardware Engineer (Redmond, WA)

This position will be located in the company's Redmond, Washington facility as part of its TCAS/Transponder Engineering group.  The Redmond facility designs a wide array of radar equipment and related components.  This facility houses more than 1000 individuals that design and develop a variety of tracking, transponder and radar systems.

 

 

Description:

 

The Senior Engineer will be involved with the Digital Hardware Development of real-time embedded avionics systems for TCAS/Transponder products. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the Hardware development life cycle including; requirement analysis, design, implementation, integration, verification, and maintenance in accordance with DO-254. Development of systems is done with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) techniques during the full life cycle of the product. 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

 B.S. in Engineering or Applied ScienceA minimum of 5 years experience in embedded hardware development is requiredKnowledge of embedded hardware design practices, with emphasis on avionics is preferred  Experience with Avionics and related standards (ARINC, etc.) are preferred A background of working with Motorola PowerPC microprocessors, DSPs, PCI buses, FPGA?s, and VHDL is beneficialExperience in work related to aircraft I/O techniques, such as ARINC discrete, A429, etc. is desirable  Skilled in application of engineering scientific methodsAccomplishment of assigned engineering tasks within quality, cost and schedule constraintsAbility to design, build and test new hardware as well as modify existing hardware with minimal supervisionFamiliarity with Mentor Graphics Computer Aided Design Enviromnent, including schematic entry, simulation, VHDL entry, simulation, and synthesis is preferredFamiliarity with laboratory environment, including use of specialized equipment such as logic analyzers and processor emulatorsGood organization and documentation skillsExcellent teamwork and communication skills
