Senior Planner

Leach International, a subsidiary of Esterline Technologies, is a leader in the design, engineering and manufacture of electro mechanical, solid state and electronic relays, voltage regulating devices, contactors, switches and power distribution assemblies for the aircraft and aerospace industries. Headquartered in Buena Park, CA, we have business and manufacturing operations in the US and in Mexico. We currently have an immediate need for a Senior Planner.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

This position is responsible for scheduling material, parts, customer sales orders and change orders via the MRP system to ensure adequate resources for manufacturing and on-time delivery of product.  Reviews inventory/manufacturing data and revise schedule as necessary.  Examiones and analyzes production data to establish/maintain production loads, lead times and resolve problems.

 

PREREQUISITE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

 

5-7 years experience in Production/Material control using a computerized MRP

 

Familiarity with military contracts/specifications

 

Familiarity with implementing engineering change orders

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Ensures that all product/material is ordered, scheduled for production and released to manufacturing to meet operation deadlines for given product lines.  Receives all sales orders and change orders and revises schedules when necessary.

 

Initiates and maintains a master scheduling/delivery control system for given product lines.

 

Reviews and analyzes sales/manufacturing/production data to ensure accuracy, resolve problems, establish/revise production loads and reduce past due items.

 

Calculates completion dates for Sales on all sales orders, change orders, requests for delivery and proposals.

 

Analyzes inventory obsolescence and transactions reports recommending, "save or scrap" in conjunction with Sales, Engineering and Operations.  Recommends action items regarding such.

 

Utilizing manufacturing data, generates reports for various departments/managers.

 

Actively particiates in the Quality Improvement System.

 

Performs other duties as required.
