Senior Production Planner.

Summary   

Schedule production on assigned projects and released production and production change orders, checking on workability of orders as to planning, tooling, and material availability.

 

Qualifications

High School plus technical vocational school graduate preferred.  Special courses beyond high school in production and inventory control, shop practice, etc, beneficial.

 

A through knowledge of production and expediting activities.

 

Normally five or more years of directly related experience in Expediting, Material Control, and Production Control activities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Schedules and releases production orders based on records of orders working and order due date.  Checks production order for completeness of information.

 

2. Set Back ?Materials required? date and ?Production start? date, using standard allowance for operations and lead times.

 

3. Determines quantity of release, writes variables, and sees to reproduction and distribution of orders.

 

4. Schedules outside production and coordinates such orders within plant workload and order scheduling. 

 

5. Processes production change orders, determining effect on orders previously scheduled and rescheduled. 

 

6. Maintains detailed record of orders in process, releases and completions.

 

7. Works with Expediting and shop personnel to determine causes of shortages and to prevent reoccurrence .
