Senior Project Engineer - Software Development
Volvo Powertrain is the Strategic Centre for powertrain issues in the Volvo Group. The scope covers complete powertrain systems, components such as engines, transmissions and driven axles, including development, manufacturing, sourcing, partnership, installation service and support in close co-operation with the customers. Volvo Powertrain has operations in Sweden, France and North- and South America.
Job Description: To provide engineering support for the design, development and maintenance of test control software and data flow and for power train test cells.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop and maintain power train test cell control software. Manage and maintain the data flow from the test cell to the end user. Develop the data evaluation techniques required by the end users while anticipating hardware and software evolutions. Understand and apply the Volvo Group global practices in power train test codes, data collection and data processing. Ensure that the laboratory is in compliance with ISO 9001 as it applies to test cell software rev control
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated experience within an automated testing environment Direct experience with test cell controls, data acquisition and data reduction Knowledge/experience in industrial process control and automation Knowledge/experience of basic TCP/IP networking Knowledge/experience with electronic test equipment Knowledge/experience with forth level languages Knowledge/experience in the development of parallel multitasking applications Knowledge/experience in web development such as HTML, PHP or Java Script. Good communications skills and the ability to work in a diverse team environment.
EDUCATION:Minimum: BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology or related technical discipline.Preferred: MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology, or related technical discipline
