Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

A Senior Q/A Engineer develop and maintain optimum methods of controlling quality and /or reliability of product or service in assigned areas such as: statistical methods, tooling and gaging, inspection methods, and program planning. Responsibilities to Include: Develop quality control methods required for the product or service of the area.  Prepare department procedures and instructions as required to implement quality control requirements.  Review Test and Assembly Documentation. Review new and revised Blue Prints.  Recommend revision or modification of systems necessary to maintain or improve quality and/or reliability. Evaluate new quality control methods and techniques for application to current production and future planning and recommend actions.  Analyze inspection methods, techniques, equipment, forms, systems, records, reports, and procedures as they affect control of product quality and reliability, and approve or recommend revision.  Participate in design conferences as related to quality and reliability.  Assist in establishment of test programs.  Perform miscellaneous special assignment assigned by group leader or supervisor.  Represent and act for the department on special committee, related to quality control methods and techniques.  Responsible for technical direction of activities in one or more areas of the Quality Assurance Department.  Prepare and Review unit test data to be shipped to customers.  Write and review both internal and external Corrective Actions.  Follow-up on Corrective Action implementation.  Participate in and lead audits and improvement workshops.

 

Education:  BS degree in Quality, Engineering or related discipline.

 

Position Requirements:  The job requires the applicant to have held a Quality Engineering title for a minimum of five years.  Areas of specialization may include hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, mechanical, quality systems, and process operations.  Experience in the manufacture and inspection of components manufactured for the aerospace/defense industry.  Must have good working knowledge of computers and computer programs (Microsoft Office).  Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal).  Experience must be in the manufacture and inspection of components with specific applicability to aerospace/defense applications, of which five or more years must have been as a QA Engineer/Specialist.
