Service Engineer

Rolls-Royce is pleased to announce an opening for a Service Engineer in our St. Rose, LA facility.

The successful candidate will:

Be available for Service Support on a 24-hour basis, including weekends and holidays. Maintain personal transportation sufficient for Service Support duties. Possess a current, valid passport for overseas travel. Provide an interface between the customer and the manufacturing base. Assist customers in fault diagnosis and possibilities for repair of Rolls-Royce Marine products. Supervise, or undertake as required, the installation, commissioning and overhaul of our products, providing both customers and factory representatives with field reports and practical advise learned from field experience. Provide receipts and details of costs to allow for correct invoicing of our customers. Undertake product training as dictated by the Service Manager. Identify and pursue new customers and markets.

Under the direction of the Service Manager - Establish a rapport with customers, visit as required and provide a point of contact for product support within the organization. Provide technical assistance, especially in regards to propeller systems and support of all Rolls-Royce Marine products. Knowledge of electronic and controls is considered a benefit. Advise customers and principals of upgrade opportunities on older vessels within the area. Compile comprehensive reports of activities and repairs to customer?s equipment.

Position requirements include:

Education: A high school graduate plus a two year associate degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent.
Experience: 5 years relevant experience in Marine Engineering or equal a plus.
Personal Skills: Result-oriented, organized, analytical, attention to detail a must as well as good verbal and written communication skills.
