Software Requirements Engineer

Candidate will support system engineering efforts to identify, define, and document system requirements for an electronic document collection, management, and dissemination system. Successful candidate will analyze existing system requirements, work closely with the customer to understand and clarify requirements, develop use cases, ensure that requirements are implementable and testable, and capture requirements in the Borland CaliberRM requirements management tool. Candidate will work with the Systems Engineering IPT in supporting the conduct of trade studies to evaluate and select COTS products. Candidate also will work with the project?s Release Planning team to allocate requirements to releases, and with the architecture and design teams to ensure requirements are allocated to architectural components. Candidate will also work with the System Test team to ensure that all requirements are addressed in system test plans and procedures, and in the subsequent validation of test plans and procedures, and will be responsible for the overall requirements traceability for the project.

 

Successful candidate should have a minimum of a Bachelors degree in a related field and at least 4 - 6 years of systems engineering and/or requirements engineering experience, preferably including experience in document and/or records management applications. Ability to work closely with customers to develop use cases and requirements is also required. Experience using requirements management tools, especially Borland CaliberRM, is a definite plus, as is experience in requirements traceability, COTS evaluation, system test planning, and system test validation.
