RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrated strong engineering skills in structural analysis, NASTRAN, PATRAN, classical hand analysis and closed form solutions. Provide documentation of stress analysis results in clear concise reports. Perform mechanical / structural analysis of flight hardware for use on spacecraft programs. Duties include requirements definition, conceptual, preliminary/layout, and detail analysis, design review presentations, and support to test. Responsibilities may include leading small work package including interfacing with customer, technical support, proposal technical inputs, cost estimating, directing junior engineers, and meeting schedule and cost commitments.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Able to employ classical laminate analysis methods for composite materials and finite element techniques for metals. Good verbal and written communication skills are a must. Ability to perform classical methods of hand analyses, 10 years. Documentation of results in clear and concise stress reports. 10 years. Nastran/Patran FEM experience for the analysis of metallic and composite spacecraft structures, 10 years. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Team Player.
EDUCATION:
Requires BS in Engineering (ME, CE, AE) and 10 years experience with mechanical / structural analysis of spacecraft structures (NOT AIRCRAFT).

LOCATION: Redondo Beach, Ca
PAY RATE: up to $95/hr
DURATION: 1 year contract
