Position Summary

Seeking a supply management professional to work with suppliers and internal personnel to improve supplier performance.  Successful candidate will obtain the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management; identify manufacturing needs as well as identify and select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and arrange delivery; purchase a high volume and variety of parts, equipment, services, and materials.

Responsibilities

1. Conducting meetings with suppliers, production control, and engineering to discuss and resolve issues.



2. Creating and developing action plans as it relates to material supply issues and make recommendations in a fast pace environment.



3. Handling a high volume desk and justify medium dollar awards in a military environment.



4. Some local travel and limited air travel may be required.



Requirements

1. Bachelors degree (BA) in Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field.



2. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through three or more years of increasingly responsible related purchasing experience. Certificate in Purchasing Management (CPM) or APICS desired.



3. 3 + years experience with a mechanical / electronic background in the Aerospace Industry.



4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.



5. Experience in negotiating contracts with successful results.



6. Knowledge of FAR requirements.



7. Proven problem resolution / implementation skills, as related to continuous improvement with suppliers.
