Sr. Engineer-Software

Description: The successful applicant will perform standard software maintenance and engineering functions to include:

1. Provide front-line Customer Support for Imagery Dissemination.
2. Identify, isolate, and analyze system and software maintenance problems for multiple systems supporting imagery ordering and dissemination management.
3. Prepare and track of PR's in accordance with site procedures.
4. Serve as liaison between the site and the Development Engineering Staff.
5. Install, integrate, test emergency patches, mandatory updates, and routine maintenance releases to the any of the systems within the facility.
6. Perform various system administration tasks (system backup, file restore, stop/start Sybase database, shutdown/restart system, etc.)
7. Provide training and guidance to other Help Desk Administrators.
8. Manage all aspects of near-real-time imagery ordering and delivering.
9. Manage multiple communications circuits, performing basic troubleshooting and coordination with communications support team.
10. Assist in the development of Help Desk and site operational procedures.
11. Maintain site logs, collect and report required system metrics and respond to ad hoc information requests from government customer.

Applicant should possess the knowledge and skill or equivalents (listed in order of preference) in three or more of the following areas for this position:

1. Imagery Dissemination Management/Target Database Management
2. UNIX Operating System
3. Relational DBMS (Sybase/Oracle)
4. SUN Computer Equipment and Peripherals
5. IESS/WARP/RMS Functionality
6. Communications Protocols and Networking.
7. Debug Programming Language (C/C++, JAVA preferred)

This position requires a BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science or the equivalent work related experience.

This position will require travel and shift work. Selected candidate will be subject to Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to access classified information. A current TS/SCI level clearance and US Citizenship is required.
