Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Sr. Mechanical Engineer Description: A leader in the In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) industry has an immediate opening for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to perform mechanical design, test and support activities of new and existing products for commercial aircraft information and entertainment systems and subsystems.

The position involves interpretation of technical data, performing detailed and trade-off studies. Creation of designs based on derived design requirements, and assisting other technical personnel in solving problems. Supporting cost estimating and planning for projects, and serving as mechanical engineering liaison to other organizations such as manufacturing, customer support and external suppliers.



Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years experience in mechanical design; experience with the design of sheet metal, hogouts, injection molded plastics and die castings.

Computer experience using a 2D drafting tool required (i.e. AutoCAD) and 3D CAD tool (SolidWorks)

Ability to troubleshoot problems with complex mechanical assemblies and interface with various engineering, production and management personnel to find solutions.

Ability to prepare precision mechanical design layout per verbal instructions, sketches, schematic diagrams, existing hardware or engineering lab models, received from both mechanical and electrical engineering and other technical support and project leadership with or without the assistance of mechanical engineers working in the areas of research, product development, product testing and manufacturing process improvement.
