Rolls-Royce is pleased to announce an opening for a Sr. Mfg Engineering, Specialist in our Indianapolis, Indiana facility.

The successful candidate will:
A member of a team based environment whose purpose is to transform processes and manufacturing methods to drastically cut lead times and hit delivery dates with perfect precision. Provide the optimum-manufacturing plan of operation, equipment, and factory space to improve productivity, quality and efficiency on the manufacturing floor. The essential duties of this position are to:Provide manufacturing engineering support and guidance for the introduction of processes, equipment and tooling technology into manufacturing. Develop and maintain the manufacturing routing, bill of material, tool standards and process updates and engineering changes. Develop, verify and maintain part programs for all types of numerical control applications taking into considerations such factors as machining parameters, cutter selections and control limitations while ensuring the design intent and component quality is achieved. Eliminate waste through setup reduction, scrap reduction, machine utilization and method improvement. Investigate and determine corrective actions for customer complaints and quality non-compliances. Lead problem solving/corrective action groups made up of cross-functional team members. Utilize formal project management tools where required to assure performance, budget, and schedule requirements are met. Practice and promote lean methodologies and continuously seeks productivity improvements. Interface across the entire Operations and Engineering communities and promotes teamwork and the pursuance of common goals.

Position requirements include:
Basic Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, with five to eight years of Mfg. Engineering experience with a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and tolerances, equipment, machining fundamentals, and measurement system analysis. Experienced in the operation of, and a thorough understanding of the machining principles for turning, grinding, drilling, milling, hobbing, shaping, broaching machines and solid understand of fixture and tooling interaction and dependencies on these machining processes.

Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in engineering field preferred. Experience with aerospace materials and processes and demonstrated proficiency in all facets of part programming including multi-axis turning and five-axis machining centers, tool selection and tool performance evaluations is desirable. Experience in DFM/A, Process Excellence (six sigma), and Lean Manufacturing best practices is strongly desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, as are interpersonal, facilitation, presentation, quantitative, analytical, organizational, follow up skills, and the ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects/programs.
