Sr. Project Engineer ? 7685 A&F

 

Position Summary:

Sr. R&D Engineer to design & develop state-of-the-art products for leading edge controls technology including advance electromechanical actuators.  Ensures the timely and efficient completion of larger, complicated or multiple projects to achieve company cost and customer service objectives. Acts as project leader with senior level technical responsibility for planning, organizing, and conducting complex technical projects or major phases of projects involving the design and development of new or improved products and/or processes.

 

Responsibilities:
Manage technical requirements on technology development programs in addition to managing the R & D program.
Directs advanced technology projects providing guidance for safety, reliability, and performance analysis including; force rate, position, accuracy, and flutter suppression, etc.
Makes written project and technical proposals, reports and oral presentations to management and customers with some domestic and international travel required.
Monitors progress of one or more programs following a gate review process for technical performance, scope change impacts, nonrecurring and recurring cost, schedule and reliability.
Acts as a technical advisor to management for electromechanical actuation and new technology development.

 

Requirements:
Bachelors degree (BS) in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering or a related technical discipline (MS preferred).
Ten or more years of related experience.
Preparing and presenting project and technical reviews for customers and internal leadership. Preparing proposals, project schedules, budgets, plans, procedures, and reports.
Experienced in the design and operation of mechanical & electromechanical actuators and components used in aerospace applications including and understanding of the relevant motion control systems theory & feedback, and analytic requirements.
Experience in, or the application of, high power electronics and motor drivers is preferred.
Knowledge of aluminum and steel materials and properties with an in depth understanding of the design considerations for static and fatigue structural analyses due to external and internal loads.
Excellent interpersonal skills in addition to excellent presentation skills, as well as written and oral communication skills.
